The prisoner exchange group has prisoners who individually have served more than 25 years of prison time and collectively, hundreds of years of time. We are incarcerated on all 3 levels in Illinois prison systems: Maximum, Medium, and Minimum (MMM). Like Illinois prison system we are primarily black and brown, but there are also other races as well. So no matter what our race, religion, creed or background on this forum, we are prisoners first.
The Prisoner Exchange was established by a group pf veteran prisoners in the Illinois prison system to express their views on prison life and culture. Collectively, our group has served hundreds of years of prison time and as a result have a unique perspective that we wish to share with the public. We believe our views and insight on the subject of prison reform should be considered in the conversation that’s taking place in Illinois and Nationally, in order to give reform efforts the best chance to succeed.
