  • To give the public an insider’s view of prison life and culture
  • Balance spending between security and programs, which will give programs a renewed focus and provide opportunities to revitalize rehabilitation efforts which has been unavailable for a couple of generations
  • To have a positive impact on prison reform efforts by giving voice to our unique insight
  • Allow Illinois prisoners the chance to re-develop and operate civic, charitable, cultural, and responsible organizations and groups
  • Encourage the IDOC Director and his top assistants to tour and hold forums in the communities most impacted by the high incarceration ratio
  • Bring IDOC into the 21st century by allowing technology to be used as a catalyst to assist prisons and prisoners to focus on higher education, create stronger family bonds and increase knowledge of chosen faith
