Entrepreneurship/ Intrapreneurship
Is the final class offered here in the Transformational Rhythms series at Dixon Correctional Center. Each of the 3 proceeding classes were important steps that prepared me to understand this class.
Before taking the Entrepreneurship/ Intrapreneurship class I thought I knew about what makes businesses an organizations work. I believed that all that mattered was the bottom line, that profit was the only way to measure how successfully an organization is operating. Of course I have never been in a position of power in any organization. My only experience was being on the lowest level of an organization. As such my point of view was very limited.
What this class did was open my eyes, I learned a better and more accurate way of measuring the health and strength of an organization. Organizational Integrity, a term I learned in this class is the key to examining how well an organization performing.
For example:
1)How well does an org. treat its employees.
2) Does an org. stay aligned to its mission statement.
3) Does it have a positive impact on its internal and external stakeholders.
4) Is that org prepared to adjust to changes in its marketplace quickly and effectively.
These are just a few points covered in this course. Most importantly after completing this class I believe I could fit in well and be a valued employee of a healthy organization. I also believe I am prepared to successfully start an organization/ business because I have learned the personal and professional principals and values that should be the cornerstone of any thriving enterprise.
