Violence Prevention Program- VPP at Dixon Correctional Center

The designers of the VPP believe this program can be just as elective decreasing violence in troubled communities as it is in Dixon CC.  We base this belief on our experiences both outside and inside of prison.  Inside of prison, men serving long term sentences are often tasked with helping younger prisoners, who are just entering prison, to adjust to their new environment and reality.  In many ways it is similar to a home owner that is invested in the harmony of their community.  By joining a neighborhood association that educates new residents about the values of that neighborhood can alleviate a lot of problems.  Inside or outside, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of….!
