Transformation Rhythms: The Journey Pt. 2

Subject Transformational rhythms Journey step 2

The second class titled Taking the Lead (TTL) helped strengthen my ability to be influential, its focus is 5 practices and 10 influential skills. When you learn something that is having a positive impact the desire to share that information is strong. But it’s important to learn how to do that in a respectful and responsible manner.

By now I was accustomed to the way the classes are run and I earnestly wanted to dive into some more of the material. I was also developing some good friendships with the other guys I started the program with. The conversations we were having in the group meetings were more authentic because we were developing a deeper appreciation of each other and the course material.

Another thing that was new and different about TTL was that it was taught by Mrs. Parrish. She had a different style than her husband. She’s really nice and her life experiences seemed well suited to this class.

Listening involves showing compassion for the person or people sharing with you. Another is communicating effectively, sometimes that means telling people what they need to know and that may not be what they want to hear. For me TTL was the class that gave me confidence, not that I lacked confidence to begin with, it gave me confidence that this transformational rhythms journey I was on was a solid road to travel.
